Trip to Wichita Falls

Last Friday we got all packed up and ready to go to Wichita Falls to celebrate Papa Lit's 90th birthday.

Unfortunately we were delayed a bit by a bunch of snow:
We spent Friday in Austin playing in the snow (a little) and hiding out inside (a lot) and then Saturday morning got brave enough to hit the road.

Those of you in the know will remember that Decatur, Texas, is the half-way point between Dallas and Wichita Falls, and therefore the Decatur Dairy Queen has always been popular stop for the Box family. Maggie was happy enough to check out the parking lot. It turns out the Decatur snow was a lot more intense than the Austin snow.

At Papa's house there are two comfy recliners, so it's important to snag one when opportunity arises.

On Sunday it was already time to head back to Austin. Maggie is a champ in the car, by the way.

Sunday night Clay had to go into work, so Maggie and I opted to watch a bit of the Puppy Bowl. This photo is 100% not posed -- I caught her watching intently several times!

And this is what we all felt like Monday morning. It is probably worth noting that there were a lot of people, a big party, some crib shopping, etc. etc. that all happened over the weekend, but our camera cable was mysteriously chewed in two so we're left with iPhone photos until a replacement cable comes in the mail...

(I'm sorry, I should have noted I was using puppy talk - did that come through?)

  2. It was probably one of those puppies that hides in the TV that did it! Perhaps that's why Maggie was watching the Puppy Bowl so intently? Trying to catch the perp in action?
